echoes” is inspired by special environments that manifest unusually and often wonderfully from raw contemporary culture around the world. It could be a living room in Bangladesh or a junk pile in East Berlin that has not been formally styled and mostly found accidentally but stands out as extraordinary. The work aims to create, using fashion as a visual storytelling medium, a unique relationship between the environment and the subject being photographed. As if the subject belongs in and is a product of the surrounding. Often the surrounding seems to be an extension of the subject. “echoes” celebrates human culture and diversity whilst aiming to maintain an honest and real interpretation of ordinary eccentricity.
